Assistance with business planning.

A constant struggle with new small businesses is the development of a business plan that clearly addresses market forces, resources, and futures. We need to develop methods to assist these new businesses in developing a comprehensive business plan by:

Organizing workshops that guide new business owners through the process of creating a business plan. These workshops can cover market analysis, financial planning, and strategic development.

Providing access to online courses focused on business plan development, including topics like market research, competitive analysis, and financial forecasting.

Offering customizable business plan templates that new businesses can use as a starting point. These templates should include sections on market analysis, resources, financial projections, and future planning.

Creating detailed guides that walk business owners through each section of a business plan, explaining what information is needed and how to gather it.

0%/$10K Loan program

Our 0%/$10k loan has proven to be one of our best incentives for small businesses. We need to continue this program and look at making it more attractive by:

Higher Limits: Consider raising the loan amount from $10k to $15k or $20k. This can provide more significant support for businesses looking to expand or start new projects.

Tiered Loans: Introduce a tiered loan system where businesses can apply for different amounts based on their needs and potential impact on the community.

Flexible Terms: Offer longer repayment terms to reduce the financial burden on small businesses. Extending the repayment period from 3 years to 5 years can make the loan more manageable.

Grace Period: Introduce a grace period of 6 months where businesses don’t have to start repaying the loan immediately, giving them time to establish themselves.

Promotion: Increase marketing efforts to promote the loan program. Use social media, local newspapers, and community events to spread the word.

Testimonials: Share success stories of businesses that have benefited from the loan program to inspire others to apply.

Establish a partner member mentorship program.

Pair new business owners with experienced mentors who can provide guidance and feedback on their business plans. Offer consulting services where experts can review and critique business plans, providing valuable insights and recommendations for improvement. Provide access to business partners who can assist in creating realistic financial projections and understanding funding options.
